twee+: Longer tweets, no strings attached

by Lea Verou

twee+ lets you post longer tweets. Unlike other services for that, the whole process is entirely client-side (except downloading the website of course). The long tweet is embedded in the URL hash. Twitter automatically shortens every URL, so the long twee+ URL becomes a 20 character t.co URL. It doesn’t use any libraries, none of the code is minified or obfuscated and it still manages to be only 5.5KB zipped. Great entry, I use this regularly now. I'm a fan of Lea and she's produced yet another fantastic tool. @Mix Online: Why no Google +1 to show I like it?

Thanks so much for the app. I was using justpaste.it to post long tweets, but this so is so much better. I hope you win.

Strange, I have an iPhone too and it works just fine, for reading twee+s at least. It has some problems in it when editing (which I’m working on), but it never crashed my Safari when loaded. Maybe it’s because you have an old iOS version? (I’m on 4.3.5)

Everytime I load your app on my iPhone, it crashes safari. I'm not sure if this is just my phone, or an iOS issue, but I thought I would let you know. specs: iOS: 4.3, 3gs still, looks great though, and I love the colour changing title...
