Use your keyboard to create a tune! This app is still very experimental; there are quite a few bugs (including browser specific ones) that need to be resolved. This was all made in one day/night (I'm about to conk out!) with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and good ol' elbow grease!

Nice! Reminds me of Garage Band.

Thanks! That’s actually from where I drew my “inspiration” for making the app.

Thanks, Roman and Jack for the Chrome feedback. I work on a PowerPC Mac, so I couldn’t test it in Chrome, because it’s only available for Intel Macs. I’ll definitely look into why it isn’t working, though! Nick and Jakie, I’m glad you enjoy it!

@Victor: I agree with your “not very good sound” comment! I tried to make it sound as best I could given the time restrictions. I was only able to figure out how to generate a pure and simple sine wave of varying frequencies. I plan on doing more research into how to generate a complex sine wave that sounds like a grand piano—or any other instrument for that matter. Which control elements did not work for you? @JSM, Jack, and Roman: I’ve figured out why it doesn’t work in Chrome. Unfortunately, Chrome doesn’t support WAV file playback in the “audio” tag, which is what this app generates in order to make the sounds; Chrome only supports Ogg and MP3 natively. Generating MP3s is improbable, but I’ll look into generating Ogg files. Again, thanks for the feedback, everyone!

What could you build with only 10 kilobytes of code?
