Hayato
great example of what you could do with the Canvas.
Forget Flash. Dozens of procedurally generated, procedurally animated, high resolution sprites interacting in a 3-D underwater environment. Swim among them - pretty, eh? Take a photo with your aquatic camera (space), and show off your roll (p)! Made with 20% time at Skookum
great example of what you could do with the Canvas.
Thanks, Hayato! It was difficult to get all the textures, gradients, 3d projections, and camera down to 10k. Barely made it. Definitely try the zoom (E/Q) while you're in the water, it's pretty cool.
Great! 5 stars! :)
Really Nice. My son was mesmerized by this.
Absolutely amazing, Hunter!
Holy fish, Hunter. That is amazing.
Very cool mate, good job!
Navigable 3D javascript generated fish tank with camera in under 10k. I'm not sure which part of that is most incredible.
1 sweet roll of fish photos for $5, any takers?
@Corey - hah, in game currency, didn't think of it ;) @Assaf - Thanks! @Anonymouse - Thanks, you're right, I should have checked the bounds better for relative scale/position from the camera! @Josh - You *are* gud with wurds @Jeremy, Jacek, whoozle - Thank you!
Very impressive! Great work!
Awesome work! It even runs pretty smooth on my Android phone!
Amazing stuff Hunter. I want to jump in!
@AnonyMouse - haha sorry you didn't like the explanation. What would have been better? @Nadav - thanks! @Aaron - Thanks! This weekend we have 48 hours of JavaScripting. I consider that jumping in ;)
Hunter, great job bud! This is impressive!
Is this a joke or something? - I wouldn't put this up on newgrounds if i were you! lol!
Bravo :)!
this actually makes a lot of sense dude. Lou www.anon-tools.au.tc
Man I never, ever thought I'd say this... try it in IE9 beta: full transparency, 50 fish, 60fps. This is the future ;)
Buggy in Opera.
Parallax is not 3D. Yawn. It also doesn't cull fish behind the camera correctly.
@YY contest is not for Opera. @II Parallax is a symptom of 3d projection. This is indeed projected. And you're right, it doesn't cull correctly... I left out a bounds check, which is also what leads to some overflow errors if you zoom forward or backwards to ridiculous levels. Sorry if that bugs you ;)
@II- this is not 3d at all really. i haven't seen many html5 demos but they are all seriously unimpressive - like this one. The hype around this nonsense will die out soon - mainly because these fanboys want to take us back to the days of "this website is best viewed with [xxxxx] browser" and most people, businesses and organizations won't let them do this. BTW - for some beautiful 3d have a look at http://www.cleoag.ru/labs/flex/parkseasons/
I think a couple of dudes missed the point here. This is an amazing accomplishment for under 10k!
This ROCKS!!!
That’s the concept behind this here 10K Apart contest, the love child of MIX Online and An Event Apart.
