Handy and blazing fast!
This is an HTML5 "app" to assists in-person Scrum (agile) project management estimation. It replaces the need for a native app on iPhone or Android, and adds an intermediary "I've voted" state that most Scrum voting apps lack. Live version here... http://scrumcards.net/
Handy and blazing fast!
Awesome work, very useful!
I don't understand what this is doing/for? Whats the spade symbol about?
This is slick stuff! Karl
@Budda: It is for Agile development. @NathanSmith: Hey, I wonder why there aren't many web apps out there that use the same 'chromeless' experience once you save it on iPhone's home screen. I think there's a lot of opportunities there but so far the only two [useful] apps out there with this feature is yours and Fever (inman). Kudos!
@budda I did not know either http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planning_poker Seems everyone chooses a card for how long the task will take and then on the revel the people with high or low cards explain why. the wild card means dont know
Hey cool! I sat through a demo of how a PM/UX/Dev Team was using this process. It was a great concept. Sadly, our team just used email and Sharepoint for LOE conversations. Phhrrrrrt.
Sweet. Going to try it out during our estimation meeting today.
@budda @tristan Yeah, that's exactly what it's for: Agile project management estimation... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planning_poker I can see how those who don't use the Scrum process for their workflow would see this "app" and be like: "What the? It's not a game, but is has cards? This is dumb." That was the exact reaction of one of my coworkers, when I showed him the concept (before he began working with me). But yeah, for those who *do* use Scrum, this saves having to carry around a physical deck of cards, and/or have a native app on their phone. (Because it's frustrating to a project manager when everyone has a different looking UI for their respective apps.) Anyway, I don't expect that this will actually win any awards, but thought I'd throw it out there, so that those who use Scrum could get some use out of it. Also, it makes a nice case study in having lightweight code (5.9KB) in a single HTML file. It saves on HTTP requests for phones, since every byte counts! :)
This is my absolute favorite in this contest. It even solves a _real_ problem :) I’ll definitely show this to my colleagues.
Ah! Simple but effective. Don't fancy the ace as it made me think of playing cards first. Maybe a picture of something more relating to Scrum would be more appropriate, like I dunno... a scrum? ( from Rugby, where it originated :D )
That’s the concept behind this here 10K Apart contest, the love child of MIX Online and An Event Apart.
